FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Answers to popular questions

WHY AM I TOLD I NEED A NEW TYRE WHEN I JUST HAVE A PUNCTURE?

Sometimes a puncture cannot be safely or legally repaired. Punctures can only be repaired if they are on the middle third of the tread width (i.e. away from the sidewall). Sometimes punctures are too big to be repaired safely.

WILL YOU FIT MY OWN TYRES FOR ME?

Yes, we do offer a fitting service from £18 per tyre (depending on size). This price also includes balance and a new valve.

WHERE DO I FIND OUT MY TYRE SIZE / SPEED RATING?

The size of the tyre is on the tyre's sidewall. It will be something like 175/55r16. There are databases you can enter your registration number into that will tell you the tyre size, but they are not always accurate

WHY DO MY TYRES KEEP GOING DOWN?

There can be a number of reasons your tyres are losing pressure. The main reasons are:

  • Slow puncture

  • Poor wheel rim condition - rusty or dirty rims which are not letting the tyres seal properly to the rim.
