There are four broad categories of tyres:

  • Premium Tyres - e.g. Dunlop, Michelin, Avon

  • Mid-Range Tyres and Budget Tyres - quality imported brands. Brands vary subject to availability

  • Part Worn Tyres - pre-used tyres

BUDGET VS PREMIUM TYRES

The million dollar question, which do I choose?


The answer is that it's entirely up to you, your personal preferences and budget. If you cover a lot of miles, then you may prefer a premium tyre, but the average motorist will tend to find a budget or mid-range will provide a great priced and hard wearing option, with fuel and noise ratings on a par with their premium counterparts

PART WORN TYRES

We do not sell part worn tyres. We see customers that have had poor and dangerous part worn tyres fitted, come to us to get them replaced with new and safe tyres within days as they have deflated/punctured/blown. Not only can part worn tyres can be dangerous and illegal, they are false economy if you need to pay twice.

When looking at part worn tyres, even though the tread may look good, you also need to look at the state of the tyre's sidewalls (i.e. are they cracked?), the number of repairs (punctures) the tyre has, the age of the tyre (tyres over 7 years old should not be sold).
